Last Call

Dear Bunnies,

If you haven't noticed there has not been an update for well over a month. I have decided to sell REVEAL. and work on smaller projects. Daniele Hesse is the new owner/cheif editor: all questions and comments can be directed to him. I truly loved working on it, i did. I loved taking photos and randomly deciding what made a good outfit.

I will write in reveal from time to time. But my role in it will be very limted. I plan on writing randomly here and there. My boyfriend and I might start a fashion blog and i might sell shapes at a friends place. I don't have time time [RL comes before SL] to continue such an endeavor.

So my loves *kiss kiss hug hug*

Sincerly,
Azar K.

Dear snuggle bunnies,

Today I would like to inform you were adding a new section to the magazine :) so happy. It's basically someone going around taking photos of people and critisizing how they look and how they can fix it.
I'm surprised I haven't seen any one blog these boots by last call. Yes, they came out a bit ago but, they're bloody brilliant! They came out awhile ago: the use of sculptie and is such a perfect combination. I was afraid of what sculpties would look like shoe wise after the Last call group freebie.
I own almost every single pair of shoes from last call. I love their shoes like a mother loves their burden [children are yucky] but, sculpties to me are just a ploy by the lindens to have people stop bitching about lag. So i'm hoping more comes out of the sculpties.
** Events coming up
today idea homecenter is releasing a new collection of furniture

Dear Honey bunnies,

We had the release party it; brilliant, beautiful, glamorous. All I can say to describe it. You can get issues in world or you can check us out www.reveal-sl.com Pdf baby!

OK so let me get into serious mode. Recently, Linden LifestylesPublished a post regarding Second life and Real life fashion. In which second life designers are stealing from Real life and Second life designers stealing from their counterparts. I would briefly like to talk about it. I have thought about this since I had heard about the Frangi Pani incident a while back. It wasn't until the lovelies mentioned it did I realize wait others care too.

Stealing Ideas from Real life and what does it mean to the consumer?
It means you will have an outfit similar to something you own or something you wish you could have but, cannot afford in Real life. 3oo Lindens is nothing compared to the thousands of dollars it takes to mimic your favorite celebrity. On an artistic level it is to some extent stealing.

Stealing in the fashion world isn't as black and white as one is left to believe. Influences will always be scene. Be it the empire waist or the Lucite bangles your wearing. It was someones original idea and you are wearing the copy. Is it fair that someone is photoshoping an image to a template and then using it as a texture? That is a matter of ethics. I fully believe when more companies like Dior and Gucci come in this will become a more relevant issue. Because remember a t shirt can sell for 40 lindens you put the Nike "Swoosh" on it and your in another ball game.

Second Life Stealing from Second life.
If some one can do it for cheaper and gain it for profit they will. Whether
it be making a fake Chanel bag with a messed up logo or some one copying X3d's textures. People are evil, greedy jackasses. Just because you bitch on a blog doesn't mean they will go "you know, your right. I'm sorry for I have sen the light" such bullshit doesn't exsist. Second lifers need to look at real world clothing companies and learn from them.

Key phrase and I will repeat it a billiobn times if needed "It can always be done cheaper to get a profit" If something is in high demand people with some skill can copy it and sell it. This happens all the time with larger companiies. This is why they have stores like forever 21. They have a middle class, average demographic that wants high end clothing.

The same thing applies with Secondlife. No one is going to give up the chance to sell something cheaper to people who can't afford to buy a 800 gown because it's "in". So with that demographic and with the skills people can copy items and sell them for the fraction of the cost. It sucks and it's aweful. But, it's buissness.

What can you do to prevent this?
Nothing. It will happen. Instead try asking the lindens what you can do. a way to protect yoru rights as the designer. Establish a loyal fan base that will buy on name and name alone [it works in RL people] Create groups or utilize exsisting groups to spot if this happens so you can speak to the desinger who commited the act and see what can be done. Also try to create items that consumers without unlimited budgets can buy. With an ever changing economy and ideas of what's hot in sl Fashion be creatize in marketing strategy and how you present your buissness so you don't loos emoney over this.

Inconclusion it absolutely sucks this happens but, as long as you photoshop so will someone else. Influcence is one thing but, resist the urge to steal. It's hard to say "Stealing is bad" Because to some extent it allows peopel to buy something cheap they otherwise couldn't afford.
It's like music and programs like napster. Yes it sucks for the record companiesyet, alot of undiscovered music gets out there. So it's you as the reader to decide what to do.

Love ya,
azar k

Dear Loves,
With the chaotic stress induced period I had last week due to my constant harassment of friends, family members and second life friends I was able to do one thing: BUY SHOES.
I'm happy for Chacelie and coby: we all made it. Our staff is very happy our magazine is well represented. I wish both of them luck. Both of them are some beautiful people. Coby is man pretty ;) Anyway, before I loose focus let me tell you I love shoes.I'm a broken record but, hell I love shoes. This morning I went to Last Call and found these beauties. Last call has made me a poor little rich girl: some of the best made shoes in second life. Every shoe is expertly crafted and look realistic. When I was in the store a women who was fairly new to the game said they were expensive. They are to some stores but, it has to do with how well they are made. I bought some cheaper shoes and in retrospect they were crappy.
I'm not kissing ass because I have no personal gain from it. I'm just a lover of clothes. I spend so much money on clothing I personally think there is something wrong with me. Oh well there are no Second life therapist I know of that will help me with my mother issues.
So far I love these shoe brands. But, i'm still looking for more
Minx - I love nikki's boots
X3d - the pucci
Sylfies - i own a pair of ballerina looking shoes hearts them
Last call- the ones above and board room bish are my favorites
My shopping is ridculous but, it's also my living. The party has been delayed simply because with all the hype the lacoste contest will have I know it will get no publicity. That and I fully believe last week and this week will make my beautiful brown crafted by goldie locks gray by the end of it

Dear Loves,

I was disappointed with clothing fair. I will admit it wasn't as laggy as it's predecessor Hair fair. I saw some lovely things From DE, Awesome, White rabbit [love their animal print shoes] and mischief. I know a hell of a lot of work was put into that and I commend anyone who is willing to put that much work into it. It is great charity is reaping the benefits from it.

As a shopper I wasn't extremely enthusiastic. As much as the women wearing every prim they could get their bloody hands on angered me at hair fair. I discovered new hair designers. I'm very stubborn. If i like one brand I stay with them. I always loved the Goldie locks hairs, still do but, now my inventory has more diversity in it.

Clothing fair was. Well I have a dress that looks liek this and it was 200 lindens cheaper. I'm not bitching about price; it was just ok. Don't go there expecting to find a piece you will fall in love with and be like wow oh my. Go there , but don't set your hopes to high; Not to say the clothing there is bad. If anything just donate your money. Yes you can buy a shirt with 300 lindens, you will wear it once until you go to closet crisis and notice an even cuter shirt and completely discard that one. Or you could donate it to charity.

I entered the lacoste contest but, I have no like qualms if I loose. That is life my loves

Ciao i belli,
Azar k

Dear Loves,

I'm too tired to write anything remarkably profound so bare with my typing skills and my sheer will not to click the spell check button. Saturdayish I entered the Lacoste contest. They haven't updated the site yet, or my browser absolutely sucks. I must say do I know how to zoom in and out and use angles. Take that women of myspace!

The magazine is coming along well. I might have to pull an Ari Gold [dude from entourage si?] on one employee but, that's life. Getting advertising is a bitch by the way! I'm willing to whore your products. The shoes are done waiting for the bracelet. Dress is done. The models are gonna be paid. Fun times!

I make brown fabulous

Sincerly,

Azar K.

Dear Loves,

I've noticed within the past two months there has been this increase of middle eastern influence. When I was shooting photos in Morocco [beautiful sim] I noticed women dressing lavishly in brilliant textiles: including a picture of a woman in the mosque in Cordoba. Morocco is a beautiful place. It's allure displayed in the Hollywood classic "Casablanca"

I told Natalia of the Sl Natalia fame about the sim for, it's probably one of my favorites. Recently I decided to do photos there, however, I didn't like the way they came out. Probably the perfectionist in me. That doesn't stop me from showing them to my lovelies. The concept is strong, exotic, beautiful ladies.

Also my dears
Last call has a morrocan theme. Bloody brilliant!

Sincerly,
Azar Kazan

Hi

Dear Loves,
My sincerest apologies for being late. There are still things I can add, simply because I am a perfectionist. I added the blog roll and now its a matter of making it all purdy for you guys. The reason I wasn't able to do anything serious was I got married Monday. It was a quickie wedding. Very Glamours; very old Hollywood.
It was a quiet ceramony and there was no stress involved. The way one should be done damn it! At the time I thought buying the Niki Ree dress was insane and shook my head at how hard it is for me to resist clothing. I have this thing for buying clothes I won't be able to wear but, hell are pretty so deserved to be bought. I am happy I got it and didn't let that silly thing known as a conscious bother me when I conceplated buying it.
It made me look like the prettiest thing out of the 6 people there ;)

Yay

Dear Loves,

If you haven't noticed the blog is still in construction. I promise you by next Monday it should be beautiful and awe inspiring. Well at least I can tell you all about the clubs shin dig, or hooten nanny [which ever term you would like to use go for it] we will be having. For the launch of our magazine we would like for all of you to come join us and celebrate the work we have created.

Come get shit faced with us and regret all your mistakes in the morning! What isn't more fashionista like then wearing a beautiful strapless chiffon dress, a pair of pumps and then vomiting in a toilet! We will have fun my darlings. We will have lovely models to be oohed and awed at. Of course no one will be allowed to feed the ;)

Since I'm done sounding like a pompous ass let me continue. We will be having goodies for all of you pretty things. Including a custom made charm bracelet. A pair of custom made stilettos and a dress. These items are exclusive to the party. The party in question my dears will be May 10th at club Revolutions. I promise you all handsome shirtless men to gawk at and ice cream cake [fudgy the whale or cookie puss anyone?]

I know I will get side tracked but, I will allow myself to continue. I am so happy about the shoes Nordic Milosz is designing: that is not to say I do not Love the other goodies every one has designed as well. Shoes hold a special place in my heart: they will me with a certain nostalgia. I am quickly filled with all those cliche fuzzy feelings one is accustomed to.

I remember when I bought my first pair of designer shoes in SL. That Felling of eager anticipation as I right click the item. The feeling of happiness as I saw a blue square on the screen informing me of my purchase. My pair of Paper Couture shoes were a luxury. The most expensive shoe I saw at that moment and the one the caught my eyes. I wore those things out! No matter what I was wearing I would always wear those to go with it. With at least 50 pairs of shoes later I rarely get to wear them. I still smile as my eyes quickly gaze over the text indicating what the folder contains.

These pair of shoes which, are still in construction are beautiful. It hasn't been since I was a noob that I have fallen in love with such a pair of shoes. I believe when you see so many they all begin to become monotonous. It's rare for me to fall in loe with a pair of shoes and believe me these are the most prettiest pair of shoes I've seen. They are rather masculine, a strong , very pronounced pair of shoes: they are very couture. These aren't a pair your going to wear when your simply walking about. Don't let that stop you though. The Shoes by Mr. Milosz's label Nordic are strong, delicate sexy and perfect for the daring fashionista's in all of us

Dear Loves,
With each word I type I fill with anticipation: the hard work of the writers, the staff, the financial backers and myself finally is resulting in a beautiful product. REVEAL magazine which, will be launched May 20th. The magazine will focus on fashion, clubs, people, designers and communities. It truly will be a lifestyle magazine.
If I can give readers anything it's honesty or at least I can give you candor. I'm the type of girl who wears things because they're pretty. I know designers an Sl simply because of memory. I don't wear something simply because "so and so" made them. I still look randomly at places that have free merchandise because I can. I have a simple belief: This magazine will not follow it's predesscors be it real life magazines or secondlife magazines in one simple way. I hate making woman think they must dress a certain way because that's the "norm".
I hate feeling like shit because I don't look a specific way. In real life I'm not a tanned, blue eyed, blonde. Nor, are many of the woman who will read this. I understand second Life allows individuals to fulfil things they nessacarily wouldn't in Real life. Be that as it may allow this to be the time when you can be creative. Show your innerself in away you couldn't in the real world. Yes I understand this is a way to change your flaws but, I say one thing. Embrace them!
One of the possiblities for the cover is a beautiful Model with the loveliest tone of skin and she's bald. One thing I want to do with this magazine is make you feel beautiful. Yes we all like buying hair we will wear once and buying a skin that fits the whole Amazon Goddess look. But, my loves be different. Feel confident and experiment in a world where you can be a dinosaur one min. and then a cat the next.
Alright enough of my rant. This is a magazine done as a great risk to every one involved. Each person who worked on it did an excellent job and I'm proud of them. This magazine has potential.
Kisses for you all,
A. Kazan
